Acne Scarring

August 14, 2024 by michaelboache

Potenza™ RF Microneedling

The Potenza™ RF Microneedling device is a state-of-the-art skin rejuvenation tool that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with microneedling technology. Unlike traditional microneedling, Potenza uses RF energy to target deep layers of the skin, promoting collagen and elastin production. This powerful combination enhances the natural healing process, which helps to significantly reduce the appearance of acne scars, improving overall skin texture and tone.

Potenza is unique because it allows for customizable treatments with different depths and energy settings, making it ideal for patients with various skin types and scarring levels. By creating precise microchannels in the skin and delivering targeted RF energy, it promotes tissue remodeling and smoothes scarred areas, leaving the skin healthier, firmer, and more radiant. Potenza RF Microneedling is a safe and effective choice for those looking to achieve a smoother, more even complexion and reduce the visible signs of acne scarring.

Laser resurfacing of the skin uses a laser to emit short pulses of high-energy light that are absorbed by chromophores in the skin. This light is then transformed into heat energy, which vaporizes thin sections of the skin, layer by layer. New skin then grows to replace the damaged skin from the laser procedure. Fractional laser skin resurfacing reduces the appearance of acne scars and provides noticeable improvements to skin texture with predictable downtime. Dermal fillers raise depressed scars immediately with no downtime. Additionally, deep severe acne scars can be improved with surgical scar revision. Depending on your specific case these modalities can be used individually or in combination. As a result, the appearance of scars can diminish, and personal self-confidence can increase dramatically.

Skin Tightening

August 14, 2024 by michaelboache

Considering a Skin Tightening Procedure

The IPL M22 is a cutting-edge, multi-application device designed to address a variety of skin concerns, including skin laxity, uneven skin tone, and signs of aging. This innovative treatment uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to target areas of loose or sagging skin, promoting natural collagen production and resulting in a tighter, more rejuvenated complexion. With minimal downtime and customizable options, the IPL M22 is an excellent choice for anyone seeking to restore firmness and radiance.

How IPL M22 Works for Skin Tightening

The IPL M22 uses controlled light pulses to penetrate the skin’s layers, stimulating collagen production and encouraging skin cells to renew and regenerate. This process helps to firm up loose skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin texture. By targeting areas such as the face, neck, and décolletage, IPL M22 provides a non-invasive solution to enhance elasticity and achieve a more youthful appearance.

Benefits of IPL M22 for Skin Tightening

Choosing IPL M22 for skin tightening offers a range of benefits, including:

  • Improved skin elasticity: Increased collagen production helps to restore natural firmness, reducing sagging and providing a lifted appearance.
  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles: The light energy encourages smoother, tighter skin, which softens the look of lines around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.
  • Enhanced skin tone and texture: IPL M22 can also address pigmentation and sun damage, giving you an even, vibrant complexion alongside tightened skin.
  • Minimal downtime: As a non-invasive treatment, IPL M22 allows for quick recovery, with most patients returning to daily activities immediately after their session.
  • Customizable and versatile: With various settings to accommodate different skin types and needs, IPL M22 can be tailored for optimal results.

Who Is a Good Candidate for IPL M22?

The IPL M22 is suitable for adults looking to improve skin laxity and achieve firmer, smoother skin without the need for surgery. It is ideal for patients experiencing mild to moderate skin sagging, early signs of aging, or uneven texture. Our team will assess your skin type and aesthetic goals to determine if IPL M22 is the right option for you and create a customized plan to achieve your desired results.

Skin Resurfacing

August 14, 2024 by michaelboache

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that carefully removes skin layer by layer with precise beams of light. The goal of the treatment is to clear away damaged skin to reveal the fresh, untouched layers underneath.

The UltraPulse Fractional CO2 laser uses advanced fractional resurfacing technology to strategically remove the outermost layer of your skin without damaging the surrounding tissue.  In addition to eliminating the damage that accumulates in the skin’s surface layers, laser skin resurfacing stimulates collagen production.

Collagen is a protein that helps build and strengthen the body’s connective tissues. This essential protein keeps youthful skin buoyant, firm, and supple. Collagen gradually starts depleting in your late 20s and early 30s, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and skin laxity.

By promoting the production of new collagen, laser skin resurfacing encourages anti-aging benefits for months, even years, after your initial treatment.

What Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Treat?

Laser skin resurfacing treats a wide range of skin concerns that are often exacerbated by the aging process, such as:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Hypopigmentation
  • Actinic keratosis
  • Sun damage
  • Dull skin
  • Enlarged pores

When performed by a board-certified dermatologist, laser skin resurfacing can generate safe, effective results that last.

Who is a Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

The best candidates for laser skin resurfacing are healthy individuals who want younger-looking skin without the downtime that often accompanies more invasive procedures. During your initial consultation at Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center in Laguna Beach, Dr. Glenn Goldberg will perform a full evaluation of your skin to determine whether laser skin resurfacing is the appropriate treatment for you.

You may not be a candidate for laser skin resurfacing if you have active acne, as heating the tissue can aggravate existing lesions. Individuals with very dark skin tones are also more vulnerable to hyperpigmentation from resurfacing treatments, but the UltraPulse-Fractional CO2 laser can still produce satisfying results.

Laser resurfacing is also not meant to treat deep wrinkles or excessive skin laxity, so it’s important to have realistic expectations before pursuing treatment.

How Much Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost?

Pricing for skin resurfacing varies and will depend on your skin condition and desired results. Contact Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center in Laguna Beach, CA to find out more about the procedure’s cost according to your individual circumstance.

What Devices Are Used in a Laser Resurfacing Treatment?

Laser resurfacing for facial rejuvenation can be done with either ablative or non-ablative lasers. Ablative lasers (e.g., CO2 lasers) remove a very precise outer layer of skin and heat the underlying skin for total skin renewal. Non-ablative lasers work by heating the skin to stimulate collagen and improve the skin’s tone and texture over time.

At Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center, we use the UltraPulse fractional CO2 for laser resurfacing. It offers various levels of treatment through different modalities to create a highly customizable treatment that can address a wide range of skin concerns.

To learn more about the different technologies used for laser resurfacing, please visit ncbi.gov.

UltraPulse Fractional CO2 Laser

The UltraPulse-Fractional CO2 is a versatile laser that uses short, quick pulses to precisely target damage without affecting the skin surrounding the treatment area. Since most of the skin remains untouched, it has more time to heal than with many other fractional lasers.

At Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center in Laguna Beach, CA, we are dedicated to researching the latest technology and advancements to bring the most state-of-the-art procedures to you. UltraPulse Fraction CO2 Lasers uses the most revolutionary fractional resurfacing technology to transform the look of scars, wrinkles, and other skin impurities. This state-of-the-art technology is highly customizable to your individual needs and allows for ultimate precision and control with the treatment.

With UltraPulse, multiple skin issues can be addressed to best suit the needs of our patients in Laguna Beach. With four modes, the UltraPulse-Fractional CO2 laser offers customizable treatment. This range of skin treatments for cosmetic dermatology includes:

  • Deep fractional ablation (DeepFX) for deep wrinkles and acne scars
  • Superficial fractional ablation (ActiveFX) for fine lines, uneven skin texture, dyschromia, and actinic keratosis
  • Combined superficial and deep fractional ablation (TotalFX) for scar treatments, improved texture of the skin, and restoration of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Synergistic coagulation and ablation for more advanced skin resurfacing and tightening
  • Achieve dramatic results in only one treatment

After evaluating the tone and texture of your skin, Dr. Glenn Goldberg can recommend the appropriate settings to help you achieve lasting results with minimal downtime.

Through the UltraPulse –Fractional CO2 Laser, the laser is used to eradicate tissue that is damaged and discolored. This allows for more collagen to form and subsequent, long-term remodeling of the tissue. This procedure is considered the “gold standard” of skin resurfacing and allows for the treatment of pigmentation-specific issues.   In addition, the Ultrapulse Fractional CO2 Laser can be used with darker skin tones and yields noticeable results post-treatment.

The procedure is safe and performed only by Dr. Glenn Goldberg at our Laguna Beach office. During a consultation with Dr. Glenn Goldberg, you will learn more about what UltraPulse Fractional CO2 Lasers can do to improve your skin. With so many treatment options available at our Laguna Beach office, you be confident that Dr. Goldberg will recommend the right procedures for your needs and desires.

Recovery After a Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure

This fractional ablative laser removes layers of skin, so some downtime is expected. Full recovery from your laser treatment typically takes 10-14 days, during which time your skin may appear red, swollen, or irritated. Most patients return to work within the first week of treatment, as their skin starts to heal.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Before and After

Since the UltraPulse-Fractional CO2 laser tightens skin and repairs damage through collagen production, it can take a few months to see your full results. You may start to see improvements in your skin about 3 weeks after treatment when the redness subsides, but optimal results typically appear around 3-6 months. With just one short procedure, you can effectively reverse the signs of aging.

How Long Does Skin Resurfacing Last?

Just one 20-60-minute procedure can give you long-lasting results.Because skin resurfacing stimulates collagen production, you will continue to enjoy visible improvement up to 6 months, which may last years, after your treatment. While the effects of laser resurfacing can last, the skin will still continue to age, and wrinkles and lines will reoccur. You may repeat laser resurfacing as necessary to maintain your healthy, youthful appearance.

How Many Laser Resurfacing Treatments Are Needed?

The number of treatments needed to achieve optimum results will vary depending on your skin condition and goals. In general, fractional resurfacing can provide dramatic results in a single session, and most patients will only need one treatment to achieve their desired outcome.

Skin Rejuvenation

August 14, 2024 by michaelboache

RF Microneedling

What is RF Microneedling?

INFINI uses your own body’s reaction to firm the skin by delivering energy directly to the dermis through gold-plated microneedles.

This unique and innovative technology protects the top layer of the skin therefore, allowing treatments on all skin types, even tanned skin.

RF Microneedling can treat:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Scar and Acne scarring
  • Tone and textural changes
  • Sagging Skin

Infini applies radiofrequency energy through its patented ComfortFlow microneedle technology, to maximize patient comfort. Infini works below the skin, where wrinkles originate, to rebuild collagen without causing unwanted damage to the top layer of skin.

Stimulated by the radiofrequency energy your collagen continues to build over several weeks after each treatment; the skin becomes more youthful and tighter as wrinkles become less and less visible.

Because Infini applies energy below the surface of the skin the Infini can treat dark and tanned skin patients, providing wrinkle solutions for patients who had little choice. Infini uses a technique called 3-D volumization to reduce the signs of aging.

If you’re self conscious about wrinkles, fine lines and crows feet, and/or acne scarring, Infini provides Dr. Glenn Goldberg and Dr. Bobby Awadalla another tool to rejuvenate your skin.

Patients looking to rejuvenate their skin and youthful appearance in Laguna Beach, CA now have a new alternative treatment that is comfortable and won’t keep them hidden at home during recovery while still providing outstanding results.

IPL PhotoDynamic Therapy

What is AFT Pulsed Light Therapy?

AFT Pulsed light is a non-invasive treatment utilizing light and heat to improve the overall appearance, quality and health of the sun-exposed skin.

The target areas absorb the selective pulsed light energy without damaging health skin. The light energy improves brown discoloration, broken capillaries and photodamaged skin.

The heat energy remodels aging collagen in the dermis, which improves texture, and brightens the skin.

What is Photodynamic Therapy?

A topical agent called Levulan is applied to the skin prior to the pulsed light treatment. The Levulan absorbs into the skin and sensitizes the photodamaged and pre-cancerous skin areas.

After exposure to the light photodamaged and pre-cancerous skin areas are effectively destroyed and heal with a fresh and healthier appearance. The addition of Levulan creates an enhanced or “super” pulsed light treatment.

The Rewards of Skin Rejuvenation and Photodynamic Therapy:

  • Removes most brown and red pigmentation
  • Gives skin a smoother, bright , more even-toned look
  • Reduces photodamaged and pre-cancerous lesions
  • Improves dull complexions, red flushing skin and rosacea
  • Little or no discomfort
  • Minimal to no downtime
  • Non-invasive

Following a treatment of Intense Pulsed Light and PhotoDynamic Therapy, the skin may appear red and feel sunburned for up to 2 days. The skin then becomes tight and brown spots may appear darker through day 5, post-treatment.

At Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center in Laguna Beach, CA, we recommend that you avoid sun exposure during the first 48 hours after treatment, as the skin is more sensitive to light at this time.

Multiple treatments may be recommended by Dr. Glenn Goldberg to achieve the best results, and this information will be discussed during a consultation at our Laguna Beach, CA office.

If you would like to find out more information about IPL Photodynamic Therapy, please contact our Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center team of experts. Lumenis IPL

August 14, 2024 by michaelboache

Lumenis IPL, also known as a photofacial, is an intense pulsed light therapy that treats a variety of skin concerns.

Whether you are looking to turn back the clock, reverse sun damage, or simply look more refreshed and vibrant, Lumenis IPL might be the right treatment for you.

Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center is a full-service skin care clinic overseen by board-certified cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatologist Glenn Goldberg, DO.

Our expert team offers a wide range of medical and cosmetic services, including laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation. We will customize your treatment plan to ensure you enjoy the most beautiful, natural results possible.

What is intense pulsed light?

Intense pulsed light delivers multiple wavelengths of light in short, intense pulses to work beneath the outer dermal layer to rejuvenate the skin and treat specific issues.

While a laser uses a single wavelength, the multiple wavelengths from the IPL device allow us to address multiple concerns in a single treatment.

Light targets the lower dermal tissue without disrupting the outer layer of skin to produce noticeable results with minimal discomfort and downtime involved.

What does IPL treat?

At Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center, we use the Lumenis IPL to treat a wide range of skin concerns and conditions, including:

  • Brown spots
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Other skin discoloration
  • Visible vessels
  • Acne scarring
  • Rosacea
  • Unwanted hair

A 2013 Stanford study found that light treatments like IPL can even turn back the clock on the skin at a cellular level. Researchers discovered that regular light treatments can change the gene expression linked to the aging process to result in younger skin over time.

before and after results from an IPL laser treatment in Laguna Beach, CA

Who is a candidate for IPL treatments?

While IPL treatments are good for most skin types, our skin care clinic might offer an alternative treatment to patients with darker skin tones. RF microneedling is often a better option for these patients. If you are undergoing your procedure for hair removal, this treatment tends to work best on patients with lighter skin and darker hair colors.

IPL treatments are not recommended for patients who:

  • Have a recent tan
  • Are pregnant
  • Have severe acne or other skin conditions
  • Are taking Accutane

Our board-certified dermatologists will assess you individually and discuss your concerns and goals in detail to determine whether Lumenis IPL is the best treatment choice for you.

What to expect from your Lumenis IPL treatment

When you come in for your Lumenis IPL treatment, we will cleanse the skin and apply topical numbing to ensure you are comfortable during your procedure.

Once the treatment area is numb, we apply a cooling gel to the treatment area and adjust the Lumenis IPL settings to produce the best results for you.

You will wear protective goggles throughout the procedure to keep your eyes safe from the light.

We move the handpiece over the area, which delivers the wavelengths of light into the lower dermal tissue. Some patients describe the sensation of the light as a rubber band snapping against the skin, but find it very tolerable.

Most IPL treatments take about 30 minutes to complete.

Recovery after your IPL treatment

Most patients return to regular activities immediately following their IPL treatment, since the device doesn’t damage the outer skin layer. You may experience some mild redness or swelling in the treatment area but these side effects don’t typically last very long.

Many patients look like they have a mild sunburn. We recommend OTC pain medications or cool packs to relieve any discomfort.

It is critical that you protect your skin from the sun after your treatment to prevent potential complications like scarring or hyperpigmentation. We will give you full aftercare instructions before you leave our office.

IPL results

You might not see positive results immediately following your IPL treatment. If the procedure was to remove brown spots, you may see those spots darken before they flake off within about 1-2 weeks.

Other improvements will also become evident in the weeks after your appointment. While you may see positive results after a single treatment, many patients need a series of treatment sessions to achieve an optimal outcome.

We typically schedule procedures about 4-6 weeks apart and will be able to discuss your full treatment plan at your initial consultation so you know what to expect.

Dermal Fillers & Wrinkle Relaxers

August 14, 2024 by michaelboache

At Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center in Laguna Beach, we offer comprehensive medical and cosmetic services to help our patients achieve the look they desire.

Our team of board-certified dermatologists use the best dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxers and can customize and combine treatments for optimal outcomes.

Dermal Fillers Available in Laguna Beach

At Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center, we have a wide range of dermal fillers available to address our clients’ needs. Voluma, Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra are injectables that produce outstanding results for many of our patients in Laguna Beach, CA.

Why You Should Choose Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers work to define natural facial contours, restore volume to your lips and cheeks and smooth away fine lines and facial creases, all without having to go under the knife. They offer natural results that can last for as long as a year.

Most dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a natural substance found in your skin. HA helps hydrate, add volume, and stabilize the skin.

Our Laguna Beach office offers the following dermal fillers:

  • Juvéderm
  • Restylane
  • RHA
  • Sculptra

What Dermal Fillers Can Treat

Dermal filler injections are the non-surgical, minimally-invasive technique that can address common signs of aging in the face and neck, such as:

  • Lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Undefined jawline
  • Loss of volume and definition in the midface
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Marionette folds (found at the corners of the mouth)
  • Lip lines/smoker lines
  • Flat, thin lips
  • Chin creases and wrinkles

The Results You Can Expect

You may be able to see your results immediately following your treatment, but these results may continue to develop for one to two weeks after your treatment session.

Results may last between 6 months and one year, depending on the filler used and the area treated. Your body will then slowly absorb the filler.

Our doctors can help create a customized treatment schedule so you can maintain your desired results. To learn more about dermal fillers, visit fda.gov.

Minimal Pain With Dermal Fillers

Most patients find dermal filler treatments to be very tolerable. Our expert dermatologists use very fine needles or blunt-tipped cannulas, and most fillers contain the anesthetic lidocaine to minimize pain during treatment.

You may also request a topical numbing cream or an ice pack if you are concerned about discomfort during your procedure.

Wrinkle Relaxers

At Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center, neuromodulators are an excellent treatment option to create a smooth, youthful face by reducing unwanted facial wrinkles caused by expression.

Most commonly referred to by the product names, Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Jeuveau, are known as wrinkle relaxers and may be used on the face to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Wrinkle relaxers are most often used to treat the brow (glabella), forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), on the ridge of the nose (bunny lines), on the border of the lips (perioral wrinkles along the vermillion border), and neck (horizontal banding).

There is no downtime after the treatment and minimal discomfort and risk involved. It is the perfect treatment for those wanting a more youthful complexion without a significant disruption in their regular daily activities.

How to Choose A Wrinkle Relaxer

Wrinkle relaxers treat dynamic facial wrinkles and folds. During your consultation at Coast Dermatology, one of our doctors will assess your facial features, origins of your lines, and your aesthetic goals to recommend the best possible treatment plan for you. We offer:

  • Botox®
  • Dysport
  • Daxxify™

The Kinds of Wrinkles You Can Treat

Neuromodulators can treat the following:

  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Brow lines
  • Worry lines
  • Wrinkles around or under the eyes
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Saggy brows
  • Bunny lines of the nose
  • Droopy lip corners
  • Gummy smile
  • Bulky Jaw
  • Chin wrinkles or dimples
  • Platysmal bands (neck bands)

How Neuromodulators Work

All of these aging symptoms are caused by repetitive contractions of specific muscles in the face and neck. Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau are each used to temporarily relax those muscles in the face.

This stops the muscle from being able to contract, which automatically smooths away the resulting wrinkles and folds.

Starting neuromodulator treatments early has been shown to minimize future wrinkles because your muscles become trained to relax and the wrinkles do not form as early.

How We Keep You Comfortable During Injections

Similar to dermal filler injections, we use very fine needles for neuromodulator injections, which helps to minimize pain. Most patients find that these injections are very tolerable.

If you are concerned about pain, please let us know, and we can provide an ice pack or topical numbing cream before administering the injections.

About Mohs Micrographic Surgery

What is it?

Developed in the 1930s by Dr. Frederick Mohs, Mohs micrographic surgery is an extremely effective treatment for a variety of skin cancers. Due to its accuracy, high success rate, and cosmetically appropriate outcomes, Mohs remains the gold standard for skin cancer removal. Once skin cancer has been eliminated from your tissues, treatment is complete and you’ll be 100% cancer-free, with no estimation or uncertainty.

After the Procedure

The Mohs procedure has a proven high success rate (studies have shown 5-year cure rates of over 99% for new cancers) and grants patients quicker recovery times (2-4 weeks) than other skin cancer procedures.

Skin Cancer Prevention

May 24, 2018 by WestDerm

Reducing Skin Cancer Risks

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, over 3.5 million nonmelanoma skin cancers in over 2 million individuals are diagnosed each year in the United States alone. By 2015, it is projected that one in 50 Americans will develop melanoma during the course of a lifetime.

At our Laguna Beach dermatology office, Dr. Glenn Goldberg offers unparalleled surgical procedures to address skin cancers, such as the Mohs surgery. However, at Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center, we encourage preventative methods to avoid the need for skin cancer surgery.

Ultraviolet (UV) rays reflect off of surfaces including water, cement, sand, and snow. As a result, it is crucial to protect yourself from UV radiation throughout every season, not just the summer. Typically, the hours of 10am and 4pm yield the greatest UV exposure outdoors in the continental United States.

Some recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for UV radiation protection include:

  • Wear clothing that covers your whole body, including arms and legs
  • Wear a hat to shield the face, head, ears, and neck
  • Wear sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays
  • Wear sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or greater. In addition, make sure your sunscreen offers both UVA and UVB protection
  • Avoid indoor tanning as it exposes users to greater UV radiation
  • Remain in the shade, especially during peak UV exposure hours

During a consultation with Dr. Glenn Goldberg at our Laguna Beach office, you can learn about more ways to protect yourself from UV radiation.

Dr. Goldberg and his team will educate you on self-examination of the skin and clinical signs of skin cancer. Self-examination is your first line of defense.

In addition, Dr. Goldberg will discuss additional early intervention methods to address photo damaged skin and precancerous skin conditions. Coast Dermatology offers a variety of photo rejuvenation and sun protection products.

Skin cancer is almost always curable if detected early. To learn more about how you can protect yourself from skin cancer, contact us today at 949-499-1389.

Microneedling

May 23, 2018 by WestDerm

About Microneedling

What is it?

A concept that’s been around for nearly 50 years, microneedling is a dermatology treatment that uses ultrafine needles to promote the body’s natural collagen production, resulting in tighter, smoother skin. The process works by creating minuscule wounds in your skin, which causes the body’s self-healing mechanism to engage. The end result is skin that looks healthier and more attractive. The microneedling device also gently targets radiofrequency energy into your skin, which helps to repair and hydrate the tissue.

What to expect

The controlled wounds caused by microneedling are not noticeable, even when viewed close-up. However, you may look flushed for a short time. One session lasts 20-30 minutes, and since it’s non-surgical and virtually painless, there’s no downtime associated with the procedure. Microneedling is ideal for even the most delicate areas of the face, including the cheeks, upper and lower eyelids, the sides of your nose, and the upper lip. Because it stimulates both the growth of collagen and the production of hyaluronic acid, this treatment is effective for a variety of issues, including rough and/or lax skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and even scars. The procedure is safe and effective for all skin types and colors, and it results in a rejuvenated, radiant appearance. The improvements look natural and regular touch-ups can prolong the effects.

Common treatments

Depending on your aesthetic goals and the extent of your skin condition, you may need 3-5 microneedling treatment sessions to get optimal results. Side effects are minimal and include redness, swelling, bruising, and/or tenderness for 5-7 days.

About Rosacea

What is it?

Rosacea is characterized by persistent skin redness, the prominence of blood vessels, blotchiness, and reddish bumps or pimples on the face; it’s as if you have the inclination to blush or flush quickly and without reason. In particular, it commonly develops in the cheeks, chin, nose, forehead, ears, and neck.

What causes it?

The exact causes of rosacea are unknown, although genetics, problem blood vessels, and irregular immune system function are thought to contribute. There are, however, known common triggers that you should avoid, such as sun exposure, alcohol, spicy foods, and hot liquids.

Common treatments

There is no outright “cure” for rosacea and it is often unpredictable; even if you avoid triggers and follow a treatment plan that eliminates the symptoms, it can return without warning. However, the skin experts at our dermatology practice can help you manage the condition by minimizing symptoms as much as possible. For milder cases, topical medications can reduce redness while oral medications can shrink bumps and pimples. For more severe symptoms, laser or IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy is effective for improving blood vessels and/or reducing blushing and flushing.
